Jennifer Johnson

Jen Johnson is a full-time potter, living, working, and teaching in Winnipeg.  Having received her BFA in Ceramics at the University of Manitoba, she is a member of The Stoneware Gallery, one of Canada’s preeminent artist-run cooperatives.  Jen was also awarded the Marilyn Levitt Award for Functional Ceramics in 2025.

“As a wife and mother, I am drawn to the idea of every-day beauty, the monumental mundane, and my work attempts to marry what is beautiful with what is practical.  The goal is to add a little meaningful beauty to every-day life and, as a result, the pottery I make is not actually complete until it is being used by its recipient.”
